As well as a love of music, Alana Scott has a strong interest in writing.
She is particularly interested in print journalism focusing on the areas of social justice, women’s issues and travel.
Alana started her journalism career as a contributor with Brisbane’s City News in 2005, and since then has worked on several newspapers under the Quest Community Newspapers banner including City North News, City South News, the Northside Chronicle, North-West News, Westside News, South-West News,
Springfield News and Image Magazine.
Alana moved to Melbourne in 2012 to work as a newspaper subeditor and relocated to the Gold Coast in 2015 to continue this role for a further three years. She now works as a freelance writer and editor and runs the blog Trek Dreamer, at trekdreamer.wordpress.com, which aims to inspire those with an adventurous spirit.
Alana has interviewed many interesting people over the years including Australian music legend Anthony Warlow, funnyman Mick Molloy, opera starlet Christine Johnston, celebrity chef Peter Howard and acclaimed conductor and violinist Andre Rieu, as well as countless people who are leading equally extraordinary lives out of the spotlight.
