Journalism

As well as a love of music, Alana Scott has a strong interest in writing.

She is particularly interested in print journalism focusing on the areas of social justice, women’s issues and travel.

Alana started her journalism career as a contributor with Brisbane’s City News in 2005, and went on to work as a senior journalist on several newspapers for News Corporation's Queensland community newspaper mastheads (Quest).

Alana moved to Melbourne in 2012 to work as a newspaper subeditor for Pagemasters (Australian Associated Press) and relocated to the Gold Coast in 2015 to continue this role for a further three years.

Alana has interviewed many interesting people over the years including Australian music legend Anthony Warlow, funnyman Mick Molloy, opera starlet Christine Johnston, celebrity chef Peter Howard and acclaimed conductor and violinist Andre Rieu, as well as many people leading equally extraordinary lives out of the spotlight.
